We are working since 1997

In development, a new paradigm is taking shape. The main actors are the people. They are becoming the subjects of development - their own development.

Unnayan Uddog is an organization that provides services to the disadvantaged grassroots people and pursues socio-economic and development oriented research.

Who We Are

A network of development workers and innovators

Unnayan Uddog is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental development organization, founded in 1997 by a group of social and development workers under the leadership of Rathindranath Pal.

It was built on one observation: rural schools, colleges, cultural organizations and youth clubs respond spontaneously when a crisis strikes, yet their role is forgotten once the crisis passes. Organized into a network, the people who already lead those institutions can deliver development programmes successfully and at a fraction of the usual cost.
