Malnutrition is one of the paramount problems Unnayan Uddog set out to address through its community based approach. Nutrition messages are carried to households through the same group meetings, courtyard sessions and field organizers that deliver the primary health care programme.
The work focuses on the nutrition of mothers, infants and young children, on food diversity from homestead production, and on linking families to the organization's agriculture, homestead gardening and fisheries activities so that better nutrition is affordable and locally produced.
