The Savings and Micro-credit Programme of Unnayan Uddog facilitates the formation of groups aiming to build up the capacities and skills of members, using small loans to help them become involved in income generating activities.
The programme also works towards self-reliance, economic empowerment and the sustainability of the target group. It encourages beneficiaries to save regularly, to utilise loans properly and to repay them in time.
College based Micro-credit Programme
Unnayan Uddog provided micro-credit and skills development training to poor rural women so that they could be involved in different types of economic activities. Students of an intermediate college worked as advisors to run the programme, which was funded by PACT Inc.
